This course provides an analysis of social movement dynamics, at differents levels: individual (activism), small-group dynamics (primary groups, activist networks, informal structures and networks) and organization (social movement organizations -- SMOs). Several core analytical frameworks and core theories are presented and critically examined, and multiple empirical illustrations are provided
Teaching methods
Seminar-style: lectures by Prof. B. Rihoux, with Q&As, then group work and presentations by students.
