At the end of the 2nd level, the student will have strong linguistic, historical and cultural skills in the area of study he has chosen ("Proche-Orient et Egypte antiques", "Byzance et Orient-chrétien","Islam et Monde arabe", "Inde et Extrême-Orient"). This course will help him to follow a scientific study path, in particular by committing to the 3rd level, or to take a more directly professional path (teaching, museum worker, guide for cultural visits, etc.). A strong emphasis is placed on the student's ability to analyse oriental texts in a critical fashion in their original language.
