UCLouvain, UGent and the BOIC combine their academic expertise and sports management know-how in a new edition of the Belgian Olympic Academy.
The objective of this unique programme is to professionalise the management of sports organisations by drawing on the latest academic knowledge and practical insights in management and leadership for sports managers.

It consists of six two-day modules and one one-day module, and will take place at various ADEPS and Sport Vlaanderen centers. There will also be a three-day international session in Lausanne. All courses are taught in English.

A unique programme
  • Throughout the programme, professors and field experts address current management themes such as strategic management, leadership, marketing, communication, sponsorship, finance, human resources management, ethics, integrity and sustainability, in line with the needs of sports organisations.
  • A 50/50 balance between theory and practice is maintained.
  • All modules are delivered in English.
  • The residential format of the modules allows participants to combine learning with social activities and networking opportunities.
  • During the two-day business game, participants work on solving a realistic case, putting the skills acquired into practice.
  • The study visit to Lausanne includes visits to the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Museum, as well as international federations, the World Anti-Doping Agency, and other major stakeholders in the world of sport.
  • Participants complete a final project in the form of a consultancy assignment, carried out within their own organisation or another sports institution.
  • The programme awards 30 ECTS credits and concludes with the award of a University Certificate.
