The Doctoral Committee for Legal Sciences (CDD) is the body that oversees doctoral programmes in legal sciences at UCLouvain. It ensures scientific quality, the smooth running of theses and support for doctoral students throughout their studies.
Main tasks
The CDD is responsible for:
- Validating the various stages of doctoral students' studies;
- Informing supervisors and doctoral students at all stages of the programme and listening to their feedback in order to improve supervision;
- Ensuring the implementation of various tasks entrusted to it by the Rector of UCLouvain.
The CDD meets once a month from October to June.

Deadlines for submitting applications
All applications to be reviewed by the Committee must be submitted via the online application form and approved by the support committee no later than 12 noon on the Monday of the week preceding the meeting.
