Wind Farm Control (WFC) is defined as the coordinated control of the turbines in a wind farm, influencing the flow between the turbines as well as the power supply to the electricity system. Its primary goal is to mitigate the wake effects that reduce velocity and increase turbulence behind the turbine(s), while maintaining the stability in the grid. In this seminar, Senior Researcher Tuhfe Göcmen will discuss the synergies between data-driven approaches and wind farm control, presenting exemplary applications including ongoing challenges, research gaps and potential future directions for the field.
