Accurate transcription of your interviews is an important step in the research process in the humanities and social sciences.
To assist you in this process, we are offering researchers at the IACCHOS, ISPOLE, and JURI institutes training on the Whisper tool. Developed by OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, Whisper is a powerful transcription tool that supports more than 40 languages (see the list of available languages). An easy-to-use version is also available via Piccolo. However, since this approach has shown superior performance in some cases, we invite you to explore how to use it on UCLouvain’s high-performance computing servers.
Its installation on UCLouvain servers guarantees data confidentiality and security.
However, using Whisper requires a short training session to understand how to use it.
To train you, we are offering a workshop on November 13 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. As places are limited, registrations will be confirmed subject to availability within each institute. A waiting list will be established once the available places have been filled.
If you would like to participate, please register at:

We look forward to seeing you there.
