In recent years, additive manufacturing (AM) of metallic materials has expanded beyond standard structural materials to include functional materials and metamaterials, capitalising on their intriguing potential. However, the adoption of AM requires significant time to develop new materials, process parameters, and post-processing routes to meet performance requirements. This presentation will showcase the tools developed and explored by the Advanced Materials & Processing Laboratory (AMPLab).

We discuss Poisson solver design and performance for exascale (here, GPU-based) platforms in the context of computational fluid dynamics, where factor once, solve many, applies. We are particularly focused on the range of 103-105 MPI ranks, where each rank is associated with a GPU capable of realizing ~ 1 TFLOPS. These parameters in uence design choices, particularly when running at the maximum-performance, strong-scale, limit.

Prof. Fabio A. Recchia directs a laboratory in Italy, where his group is testing new biological
therapies in pig models of myocardial infarction and hibernated myocardium, and a laboratory in
the USA focused on the pathogenic role of cardiac metabolic alterations in a canine model of
congestive heart failure. His main expertise is in integrative cardiovascular physiology and
pathophysiology.
