Three legal research groups of UCLouvain, Namur University and Bond University are hosting an international expert workshop focused on the challenges surrounding trade secrets legal protection in the development and deployment of AI models.

🧠 Workshop Objective: To foster the legal dialogue on how trade secrets law interacts with the development of AI systems and the growing demands for transparency, data access, and explainability of these systems.

• The role of trade secrets in AI business models

• Reverse engineering and legal vulnerabilities in AI

• Conflicts between secrecy and transparency obligations (DSA, Data Act, AI Act)

• Rethinking the scope and limits of trade secrets protection in the AI era

🗓️ Format: Semi-structured discussion with short expert presentations (max. 10 minutes), followed by open debate.
