Dr. Eleonora FRASCA is a researcher and lecturer in EU law at the Charles De Visscher Centre for International and European Law at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain, Belgium). Her research focuses on the EU’s contribution to the informalisation of international law-making, and in particular on the nature, function and effects of the EU informal migration agreements. She holds a law degree from Sapienza University in Rome (Italy) and a Master’s degree in Public policy and Human Development from Maastricht University (Netherlands) and the United Nations University (UNU-Merit). Her areas of expertise and interest are the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (ASFJ), and in particular border controls, migration and asylum policy, also in their external dimensions, as well as EU citizenship, free movement of persons and fundamental rights. She also has an interest in EU-Africa relations and transitional justice.
