Chargée de recherche FNRS

I am a sociologist exploring how migration and displacement reshape lives and societies, with a particular focus on South-South migration. My research examines the intersectional impacts of class, race, ethnicity, and gender on migrant experiences, the relationship between spatial and social mobility, and the entanglement of precarity and informality.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at UCLouvain, funded by the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (F.R.S.-FNRS) and based at the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Families and Sexualities (CIRFASE). Previously, I held a postdoctoral position at the Institute of Geography of the University of Neuchâtel and nccr – on the move.

I completed my academic training in Peru, France, and Belgium, earning a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences from UCLouvain (2019). My work is grounded in fieldwork in Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Belgium and engages with Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese academic traditions.

My current project examines how Venezuelan displaced women navigate disrupted mobilities, biographical ruptures, and intergenerational continuities, and how they imagine and negotiate their futures in contexts of displacement.
