Pierre Delmelle is Full Professor in Environmental Sciences and Environmental Geochemistry at UCLouvain. His research lies at the intersection of volcanology, environmental sciences and agronomy. He studies the short- and long-term impacts of volcanic eruptions on natural and agricultural ecosystems, combining fieldwork, laboratory experiments and modelling. His international career includes positions in Canada, Japan and the UK. He teaches subjects such as inorganic chemistry, biogeochemistry, Earth sciences, soil sciences and hydrogeochemistry modelling.
