Prerequisites
The student should have followed the intermediate-level course (LANGL1331) or a course of a similar level, corresponding to the Upper B1 level of the 'Common European Framework for Languages' (European Council).

Content
As far as the program is concerned, the set-up is 45 hours a year. The rhythm will be eleven 120-minute sessions in Q1 followed by eleven 120-minute sessions in Q2. The activities include watching videos and listening to podcasts, reading texts, speaking activities, lexical exercises, presentations, writing assignments and other miscellaneous activities, with a focus on improving your productive skills: speaking and writing. Nine units will be covered, with themes either directly or indirectly linked to the world of politics.

- 120-minute classes in groups of maximum 25 students
Evaluation methods
Continuous assessment (certificative and formative):
- vocabulary tests
- essay-writing and graphs descriptions
- classroom participation (press reviews)
- classroom presentations
- listening comprehension tests
- no written exam
- 300 points to be accumulated throughout the academic year
- 110 points going to Q1 activities and 140 going to Q2 activities (a total of 250 marks going to continuous assessment)
- the May oral exam is worth 50 marks
- the results obtained in Q1 (out of 110 marks) will be accumulated with the results obtained in Q2 (out of 190 marks)
Other information
The students loses 25 % of their grade if they are absent from class more than twIce per term without any form of justification, i.e., 12.5 % per term.
