Content
The aim of this course is to develop the students' ability to use English in interactive communication situations related to contemporary issues (feminism, the Transition, interculturality/racism/migrations,…), as well as situations they will encounter in their future (professional) lives (making a presentation,  writing an e-mail, taking a job interview,…). This means mastering among other things typical language functions, vocabulary, grammatical structures, pronunciation and intonation that will make for fluent and spontaneous communication.
By the end of the year, students should have reached the B2+ level of the CEFR.
Teaching methods
  • Interactive communication through classroom activities: debates, conversation activities, games, songs, conferences, field trips, taking a job interview,...
  • Application of original and personalised presentation techniques (structure, appropriate language functions, body language, eye contact, Power Point,...)
  • Consolidation and improvement of grammar use, vocabulary accuracy as well as pronunciation.
  • Regular feedback to students.
  • Pairwork and small groups (conversation tables)
--> The course is given on campus exclusively
