In addition, as part of this teaching unit, each student will complete an end-of-cycle project on a theme defined in consultation with a promoter and relating to one of the areas of study in the languages and humanities programmes. Content
The final paper deals with a subject of the student's choice, related to one or more of the disciplines and main languages on the programme.
The work itself is normally written in one of these languages, in keeping with the subject of the work (exceptions are possible with the agreement of the promoter).
The preparation and presentation of the research will be the subject of either personal meetings with the promoter or group work sessions.
The final paper should contain approximately 30,000 characters, including spaces, but excluding long quotations, appendices and bibliography.
Evaluation methods
The TFC is assessed by the promoter(s).
The mark takes into account the following elements
  • Ability to produce a well-argued and documented summary.
  • Ability to use a methodology appropriate to the chosen question and to justify its choice.
  • Coherence of the proposed reasoning and relevance of the arguments used.
  • Quality and correctness of the written word; use of rigorous and appropriate terminology.
  • Participation in individual or group coaching sessions organised by the promoter, and quality of these interactions.
If generative artificial intelligence (AI) is used, it must be used responsibly and in accordance with academic and scientific integrity practices. As scientific integrity requires that sources be cited, the use of AI must always be reported.
The jury may object to a student's enrolment in the TFC or deem it inadmissible if the student has not participated in the various stages of the teaching process as detailed above and, a fortiori, if the student has never contacted his/her promoter (except for the validation of the TFC subject).
