At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 After talking this course the students should be able to 
  • historically situate the various currents of psychology and education and the context that created them 
  • identify the role of philosophical postulates and naive preconceptions in arguments on the scientificity of disciplines and to identify the conditions under which the arguments they imply apply to the variety of concrete practice situations
  • recognize the difficulties and fruits of multi-disciplinarity in pyschology and education
  • understand the situation of pyschology among today social praactices and compare psychology as lit is to social expectations

Content
The course is divided into two main parts. The first is dedicated to the history of psychology, from the Greek origins to the institutionalization of this discipline between the 19th and 20th centuries. The second describes different methods used in psychology (observation, experimentation, measurement, etc.) and addresses different epistemological and ethical questions.
