Content
The reading of the chosen texts (available before each class on Moodle) will be prepared by the students. During the discussion sessions, particular attention will be paid to vocabulary, syntactical features and synoptic comparisons. A number of French translations will also be compared on specific points, to illustrate the adage "traditore traduttore".
Teaching methods
In-class teaching. The course demands the active participation of students, who are progressively provided with the texts to be studied. Before each class, they are asked to prepare a personal translation of these texts, using the tools at their disposal (dictionary, grammar, etc.). During the class, the text studied will be projected, so that the grammatical analysis can be worked out together and seen by all.
Evaluation methods
Attendance (15%)
Regular class participation is required. This involves both active participation in the course and prior work on the texts proposed at each session.
Oral examination (85%)
