Main themes
The following topics will be covered: 
  • Different styles of intervention and their consequences on physical activity and sport. 
  • Different intervention skills (communication prerequisites, verbal and non-verbal communication, demonstration, visual aids, observation, feedback and organisation) in physical activity and sports groups. 
  • Various teaching tools required to observe, analyse, lead, develop and evaluate physical activity and sports activities. 
Students will need to be aware of the wide range of possibilities for intervention in physical activity and sport, and be able to choose and use the tools available that are best suited to a given situation in physical activity and sport. Particular emphasis will be placed on techniques for the self-assessment of intervention practices (particularly autoscopy). 
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  • Plan and write a session of physical activity and sport in collaboration with another student (1.1, 1.3, 4.1, 4.4, 5.3, 8.1 and 8.4). Supervise and intervene with fellow students during a physical activity and sports session. (1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 8.2) 
  • Observe, analyse and evaluate physical activity and sports activities. (1.1, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5). 
  • Self-evaluate own interventions in physical activity and sport in the form of reports. (1.5, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4 and 8.2)
