At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

This course aims to introduce students to analytic philosophy of language, mind and action.
 
Content
We will explore the history of analytical philosophy through the debates it has sparked on the relationship between thought, language, and the world. We will look at the emergence of major philosophical questions of the 20th century from the perspective of four female philosophers who studied at Oxford in the 1930s and 1940s: Elizabeth Anscombe, Philippa Foot, Iris Murdoch, and Mary Midgley.
