Main themes
  • Reflective and critical perspective on teaching experiences in school settings.
  • Obstacles to perceiving and understanding the specificities of works of art and the objectification of aesthetic appreciation.
  • The understanding of works of art fluctuates across time and space, often shaped by the beliefs and sociocultural conditions of each era, as well as by the cultural specificities of learners.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  1. To use reference conceptual frameworks and analytical grids to develop a critical reflection on one's teaching practices and enhance their effectiveness.
  2. To adapt to different audiences and adjust teaching practices to promote learners' cultural autonomy.
  3. To analyze various conceptions of art history and its teaching to raise awareness of the epistemological issues related to the objectives of art history courses.
