Main themes
This course will introduce students to general sociology, providing them with the keys to sociological analysis of social phenomena. This will involve an introduction to the sociological approach (construction of the object), the methods used to study a social phenomenon, and the major paradigms of the discipline. The course will then address a number of key sociological concepts (norms and values, socialization, social control, habitus and social classes, labeling, gender, etc.) based on specific themes such as crime and deviance, social inequality, the family and migration. Throughout the course, students will be invited to reflect on the relationship between law and society.
