Main themes
The following topics will be covered: 
  • Introduction to badminton, its rules and organisation in the FWB 
  • Badminton leadership methodology: theoretical elements and practical approaches 
  • Adapting the activity: the key to developing the pleasure of learning badminton 
  • The adapted badminton activity: from the basics to the exchange 
  • Introducing badminton from the exchange to the application of space and speed 
  • Introduction of technical elements: tools for personal development in badminton 
  • Making badminton safe to play 
  • Ethics, deontology and the badminton instructor 
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  • Distinguish between the basic elements of badminton, promotional activities and the basic rules of the game in order to explain and present the activity to a new audience. (1.1, 1.2 and 8.3) 
  • Apply the principles that enable you to identify the different learning methods used by candidates during their training. (1.1 and 1.3) 
  • Apply the methodological principles enabling you to adapt your speech to a younger audience (metaphors and fictions) during a contextualised role-play. (1.8, 4.2 and 4.3) 
  • Apply the methodological principles for adapting the didactic variables in a transitional situation "towards badminton activity" in order to respond to the skills of the audience defined in a contextualised role-play (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.8). 
  • Apply the methodological principles of organising playful, progressive situations with a view to introducing the forehand serve into play and applying shots that allow the "space-time" factor to be played. (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.8) 
  • Demonstrate the introduction of basic technical elements in decontextualised situations. (1.2) 
  • Apply risk analysis to a badminton activity and identify the instructor's good practice in accident prevention (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4) 
  • Distinguish and describe the basic rules of ethics, morals and deontology of the sports setting with an educational vocation with a view to applying them in his/her role as a Badminton instructor (7.1)
