Main themes
This course is based on the content defined in the CATAGSAE course and the Practical Teaching Unit UEP CS1.4.4 for SAE instructors: 
Safety and methodological content (learning progression) and didactic content (games and playful situations and challenging oneself). 
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  • Put on equipment, rope up and manage the safety of the roped party 
  • Suggest appropriate teaching situations to manage the learning of basic safety techniques in SAEs 
  • Recognise and detect critical unsafe situations 
  • Manage the emotional level required for this activity 
  • Manage basic technical situations safely 
  • Intervene to resolve dangerous situations. 
  • Demonstrate a sufficient level of performance and ease in climbing (Difficulty level 5A). 
  • Master a few knots useful in the defined field of competence. 
  • Lead an introductory session on an SAE using the fun and technical scenarios proposed during the course. 
  • Manage personal protective equipment
