Content
This course unit will focus on the psychological mechanisms involved in the initiation and maintenance of physical activity, and optimal port performance. These topics will be addressed in an integrative manner, applying a teaching approach that allows for “back-and-forth” connections between theoretical concepts and models (e.g., self-control models, self-determination processes, self-efficacy beliefs, …) and psychological intervention techniques specific to the field of sport and exercise psychology. These aspects will be illustrated by the instructor through concrete experiences, case formulations, and intervention projects related to target issues.
Teaching methods
This course unit aims to immerse students in a continuous process of experimentation and critical reflection. The objective of this dynamic is to enable students to integrate essential knowledge in the field of sport and exercise psychology. Each class session will last 2 hours. Detailed information about the course structure and the specific learning outcomes will be provided during the first session.
Evaluation methods
