Main themes
The aim of this seminar is to engage students in a critical and reflective approach to the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence in general and in relation to our studies in particular.
- The concepts of intelligence and artificial intelligence
- Cognitive' technologies: from expert systems to deep learning, and the fields of application.
- The place of artistic creation in the face of artificial intelligence.
- The notion of authorship.
- The notion of authenticity.
- AI and confirmation bias.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
1 | To define, delimit and analyse the concept of Artificial Intelligence using a critical approach. |
2 | Understand the impact of artificial intelligence on the fields of artistic thought and creation and the human sciences. |
Teaching methods
Lectures given online alternating with in-class hands-on workshops.
Evaluation methods
Contribution to a collaborative project--in digital document and data analysis, critical editing, and publishing--together with other students enrolled in the course and directed by the instructor. Active participation in the online event presenting the project(s) at the end of the quadrimester.
