Content
In 2025-2026: Liturgy and the Bible
After centuries of differing and conflicting views among Christian denominations in the West, there is no longer any doubt that the Bible and liturgy are the two main sources of all Christian life: for each believer and for churches and communities as a whole. The Bible and liturgy are a constant challenge for theological research and teaching. At the beginning of the 21st century, we can see a welcome new convergence, which has developed over the last few decades despite certain controversies and obstacles. The course will address several questions: biblical revelation, the various liturgical hermeneutics of the Bible; the history of the relationship between the Bible and liturgy; lectionaries; the Bible as a liturgical signifier; non-verbal supports for the Bible in prayer and liturgy.
