At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

On completing this Unit "Translation", students should be able to demonstrate their ability to translate an unfamiliar text from the fields of the environment, economics, law or technology, and general texts, comic strips and graphic novels into perfect French in line with the norms of vocabulary and phraseology customary in these text genres; recognize and respect the intentions of the author of the original text.
 
Content
Translation exercises into French. For « traduction à vue », the exercice takes place orally and is based on general articles, comic strips and graphic novels
Teaching methods
Translation exercises both in class and at home with individualized tutor correction and comparison with published translations.
Evaluation methods
Julien Bal:
Traduction écrite : examen organisé durant la session d’examens. Les étudiants et étudiantes doivent poursuivre la traduction d’un texte littéraire à partir d’un début de traduction qui leur est fourni. Un glossaire de base est mis à leur disposition. Les dictionnaires bilingues et unilingues sont autorisés. L’usage de l’intelligence artificielle n’est ni autorisé ni possible lors de l’examen.
Traduction à vue : examen oral collectif organisé durant la session d’examens. Traduction orale, avec prise de notes, d’un texte journalistique découpé en séquences.
Continuous assessment for june and written exam for augustus/september.
