Content
Practical exercises focusing on transferring oral Italian/French messages (texts) into French/Italian.
Teaching methods
Practical interpreting exercises, including consecutive and liaison interpreting, note-taking, oral presentations and collective feedback on the accuracy, structure and linguistic quality of students’ renditions.
Evaluation methods
Julien Bal – Consecutive interpreting
Oral examination during the examination period. Students interpret into French, with note-taking, a three-and-a-half-minute presentation delivered twice in Italian. Examination topics are agreed with each student during the final class.
Fiorenzo Molino – Liaison interpreting
Continuous assessment for the June examination period; oral examination for the August examination period.
If the course unit is failed, a mark of 10/20 or above obtained for one component is automatically carried over to the second examination period, provided that all components were taken. No mark is carried over if the student was absent from, or received an attendance mark for, one of the components.
