| This seminar is the first concrete teaching of a complete research in contemporary history from the issues and research of the archives to the oral and written presentation of the results. It is conceived in order to prepare the students for the advanced level seminars in third year. | |
Content
The professor in charge of the seminar will define its topic and propose a theme related to her research, guiding the students through printed and archive sources.
In introduction, the theme, its framework and its different approaches are presented. Presentations of contextualisation, meetings with witnesses or site visits provide additional indications throughout the first term.

Teaching methods
The seminar is designed as a series of common work sessions.
As the students have to work mostly outside the University, the professor will schedule on-line appointments (Teams) during which guidance and assistance will be provide to the students in their research.

Evaluation methods
Continuous assessment (40%) based on student participation in seminar sessions (submission of reading reports) and final essay (60%).
Only those assessment components submitted via the relevant tabs on Moodle will be marked. No late submissions will be accepted.
The use of generative artificial intelligence is prohibited for the completion and writing of written assignments. The use of spell checkers or translation software is permitted, but must be clearly indicated throughout the text.
Any other use will be considered cheating, as defined by the RGEE.
