Prerequisites
Students must have taken the course (LALLE1001) or another equivalent course corresponding to Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). 
Main themes
The topics covered are selected in line with the learning outcomes of the programme and the communicative needs as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for the target level (A2).  
The course is structured around different subjects such as leisure, travel, work, housing, and mobility.

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

In accordance with the learning outcomes (LO) for the Bachelor's programmes in ESPO and the descriptors of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages for the target level (A2), this course module contributes to the development and of the following LOs: 
 
  • Reading Comprehension: 
    • Can find specific, predictable information in everyday material and understand short, simple personal letters. 
    • Can understand short, simple texts describing people, places, daily life, and culture, provided they are written in simple language.
 
  • Listening Comprehension: 
    • Can understand and extract the essential information from short, recorded passages dealing with everyday matters, provided the speech is delivered slowly and clearly.
 
  • Spoken Production and Interaction: 
    • Can give a short, rehearsed announcement on a predictable topic, which is clear enough to be followed by an attentive audience. 
    • Can describe in simple terms their family, other people, immediate environment, and living conditions, and can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information. 
 
  • Written Production : 
    • Can express personal impressions and opinions on topics of personal interest (e.g., lifestyles, culture, stories) using everyday vocabulary and expressions. 
    • Can produce a series of simple phrases and sentences describing their family, living conditions, educational background, or present job.
 
  • Code :
    • Has a command of a basic vocabulary (1,500 to 2,000 words) and basic German structures. 
    • Can use simple structures correctly, but systematically makes basic mistakes; nevertheless, the general meaning of what they want to say remains clear. 
The objective of this course is Level A2 of the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" (Council of Europe).
