GERMAN Objective B2

Having completed the course LALLE1201 or having a B1 level. 

This intermediate-level German course based on authentic materials aims to provide students with the communicative skills (spoken and written production, listening and reading comprehension) they will need in their professional lives. The course is structured around various themes (mobility and transport, society and civic responsibility, studies and education, media and corporate communication, energy and the environment, employment and professional life, politics). 

Several marks are taken into account for the final assessment.
January mark:
• 65% oral test (discussion about topics covered in the course, bucket list and pronunciation) in week 14.

• 35% continuous assessment (different tests; details are in the week schedule in the syllabus on Moodle).

June mark:
• 50% oral test in week 13 (job interview with CV, cover letter, job offer and presentation video, bucket list II).
• 50% continuous assessment (different tests; details are in the weekly schedule in the syllabus on Moodle).
Tests for continuous assessment can only be retaken in the event of absence justified by a medical certificate. Regular class attendance is required in order to obtain a mark for the continuous assessment.
If a student fails in January, they can retake the December oral exam in the thirteenth week of the second term. They cannot retake the first-term continuous assessment.
In September, the student has to pass the tests of December and June (vocabulary 30%, grammar 30% and oral exam (40%) (questions about topics seen in course, job interview -with cv, letter, joboffer and presentationvideo; bucketlist 1+2);  there is no more mark for the continuous assessment.Generative artificial intelligence (AI) must be used responsibly and in accordance with the principles of academic and scientific integrity. As scientific integrity requires that sources be cited, the use of AI must always be acknowledged. The use of artificial intelligence for tasks or examinations where it is explicitly prohibited will be regarded as cheating.
Carrying a connected device on one’s person or within easy reach (even if switched off or in aeroplane mode) during any form of assessment is prohibited and will be considered an instance of cheating. This includes, for example, mobile phones, smartwatches, earphones, translation pens, etc. This list is not exhaustive!
Any attempt to cheat will be reported to the relevant examination board and the student will face the consequences.
