Prerequisites
Having completed the course LALLE1203 or having a B2+ level. 
Main themes
The course focuses on projects related to the professional world and the field of study, for example a company visit in German speaking Belgium or a German speaking country, interactive presentations and organisation of daytrips/conferences.

Examples of topics covered include:
  • preparation for job interviews,
  • job creation,
  • discrimination in the labour market,
  • cultural differences within a company,
  • corporate social responsibility,
  • gender equality (in the workplace), etc.

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

In accordance with the learning outcomes (LO) for the Bachelor's programmes in ESPO and the descriptors of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages for the target level (C1), this course module contributes to the development and of the following LOs : 
 
  • Listening Comprehension (general) – C1 :
    • Can follow extended speech on abstract or complex topics outside their field, although they may need to have some details confirmed, especially if the register is unfamiliar. 
    • Can recognize a wide range of idiomatic expressions and common turns of phrase, as well as changes in register. 
       
  • Reading Comprehension (general) – C1 :
    • Can understand in detail long and complex texts, whether or not they relate to their field, provided they can reread difficult sections. 
    • Can understand a wide variety of texts, including literary texts, newspaper or magazine articles, and specialized, academic, or professional publications, provided they can reread them and have access to reference materials. 
 
  • Spoken Production (general) – C1 
    Can give a clear presentation or description of a complex subject, integrating secondary themes and developing specific points in order to reach an appropriate conclusion. 
     
  • Written Production (general) – C1 
    Can use the structure and conventions of a variety of genres, adapting tone, style, and register to the target audience, as well as to the type of text and subject matter. 
 
  • Spoken Interaction (general) – C1 
    Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Has a good command of a wide lexical repertoire, allowing them to overcome gaps easily through paraphrasing, with no obvious search for expressions or avoidance strategies. Only conceptually difficult topics are likely to disrupt the natural, smooth flow of speech. 
 
  • General Linguistic Competence – C1 :
    Can use a wide range of complex grammatical structures appropriately and with great flexibility
