Main themes
This course introduces the intersections between the human sciences and architecture. It aims to explore the anthropological constants of space, dwelling practices, and, more broadly, the production of space as a complex social act.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Specific Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Adopt a relative, reflective, and critical perspective on dwelling practices,
  • Identify the issues related to the appropriation of spaces by inhabitants,
  • Analyze the challenges of social coexistence in inhabited environments,
  • Understand the importance of interdisciplinarity between the human sciences and architecture.

General Learning Outcomes

In line with the program’s learning outcomes (LOs), this course contributes to the development and acquisition of the following LOs:
  • LO2.1 Acquire and proficiently apply the conventions of representation in two and three dimensions.
  • LO4.3 Learn and apply the content of artistic or scientific disciplines to enrich the architectural project.
  • LO4.4 Learn and explain the environmental, social, and economic consequences of architectural choices.
  • LO5.1 Communicate attentively and inclusively with the various stakeholders of the architectural project.
