Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

This unit contributes to the acquisition and development of the following learning outcomes, as assigned to the Master's degree in interpreting : 1.5, 2,2, 4.2, 4.5, 4.6, 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, 7.2.
Specific learning outcomes at the end of the learning unit
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to:
  1. integrate into the world of work as a competent and responsible observer, respecting an appropriate professional stance;
  2. demonstrate knowledge (ability to communicate, general culture, socio-cultural knowledge, knowledge of the profession and networks) and interpersonal skills (presentation, attitude, punctuality, professional positioning and willingness to improve);
  3. evolve in new professional spheres and environments;
  4. acquire new knowledge with a view to applying it in subsequent interpreting assignments.
At the end of the work placement, the students must produce a written report of at least 10 and at most 20 pages in French, showing that they are able to :
  1. present a summary of the different types of interpreting performance and their development prospects, distinguishing between the essential and the incidental ;
  2. share certain aspects of the work of the French- LSFB interpreter on the basis of observations and analyses made during the course, in particular by illustrating them through analysis of the ethical difficulties encountered and the solutions found, while respecting professional secrecy;
  3. critically reflect on what they have learnt during the placement by means of personal reflections in terms of professional, interpersonal and personal development for their future profession as an interpreter.
 
Other information
In the workplace, the ban on wearing religious symbols stipulated in the work regulations also applies to interns.
