Teaching methods

The course is taught on-campus. It alternates between theoretical input and practical work and activities. The course is largely based on interactions with students, who are expected to actively engage. Attendance is therefore strongly recommended. Readings and peer-presented work will be suggested to enrich and deepen reflection and interactions between students and the instructor.

Evaluation methods

The first-session summative assessment will consist of two components:

• A written exam (75% of the grade).
• Group work involving the understanding and presentation of concepts (25% of the grade).

Attendance is mandatory for the sessions dedicated to these group work presentations. Any absence not validly justified by a medical certificate will result in a grade of 0 for this part of the assessment in the first session. The final grade is the weighted average of both components; only the written exam must be taken in the second session.
The second-session summative assessment will consist of only one component:

• A written exam (100% of the grade).

If students use generative AI, they must adhere to the principles of responsibility (they remain responsible for the content and form of the submitted work), authenticity (submitted work must reflect their involvement and learning), and transparency (any use of AI and how it was used must be clearly explained).
These same principles of responsibility, authenticity, and transparency apply more broadly to all information sources used. These must, in particular, be systematically cited in accordance with bibliographic referencing standards.
