Content
The Specialised Translation Workshop in International and European Affairs is an initiation to the translation of international affairs texts from Spanish into French. The aim of the course is to teach a translation method based on pre-translation, translation and post-translation tasks. This methodology will be acquired through a series of translation exercises which will receive group and/or individual correction. The texts to be translated will be selected from the International Affairs section of the general press or from specialised publications and will cover one or several themes in the field of international affairs.
Teaching methods
Lectures and exercise sessions.
Evaluation methods
During the term: formative assessment of the student's work.
June and August/September exam sessions: summative assessment in the form of a written paper and oral exam. Practical details of the written paper and oral exam will be communicated during the term on Moodle.
The use of machine translation (MT) and/or artificial intelligence (AI) is possible provided that the teacher explicitly authorises it in her instructions. At the teacher's request, the student may be asked to indicate the use of MT and/or AI and to specify the tools used as well as the parts of the text concerned by the use of these tools.
