Content
This teaching unit is a practical introduction to literary translation from German into French. Closely related to unit LTRAD2700 - Theory of Literary Translation, which teaches the theory of literary translation, it focuses on the core principles of the subject.
After being introduced to the rules of literary translation, the students will individually or collegialy translate a children's book and an excerpt from a novel for children or young adults from German into French. On completing this translation/adaptation/rewriting assignment, the students will be asked to argue their translation choices.
