Introduction
The Master's degree specializing in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) offers advanced training and in-depth theoretical, didactic, and linguistic study to practicing FLE teachers and students who are already professionals in French language teaching, foreign language teaching, or applied linguistics, as well as opportunities for research in language teaching. This program is aimed at both Belgian students, including non-French speakers, and foreign students who have been trained in their country of origin.

- You already have a master's degree or at least four years of initial training in language teaching (teaching French as a foreign language, French as a first language, or another foreign or second language) or in languages, literature, or translation studies.
- You already have advanced proficiency in French (CEFR level C1).
- You want to strengthen your teaching, language, and research skills.
Your programme
The Master's degree specializing in French as a Foreign Language offers a one-year advanced program consisting of:
- a foundation of courses combining theory and practice in teaching, language learning, assessment, pronunciation teaching, and educational engineering;
- immersion in a new language, to contrast theory with acquisition experience;
- a wide range of advanced courses, to choose from options:
o language teaching and learning techniques and contexts
o statistical, linguistic, and IT tools for research
o Francophone cultures and literatures, among others; - a research thesis or project thesis to explore these dimensions in greater depth through a research question or educational proposal.
