Bootcamp Tools & Methods

The Bootcamp is MANDATORY for all NEWCOMER (students) registered in an ESL master’s in economics.

• Mandatory for NEWCOMERS in every ESL programmes (ECON2M1, ECON2MS/G (double degree incl.), ECON2MD, ECON2MA (double degree incl.), ETRI2MA, QEM2 (even if at UCLouvain in QEM1S2))
• Mandatory for students who did not submit their assignment in 2025-2026 (and previous years)
• 6 modules of 3 hours each (2 hours Theory + 1 hour Practice)
  • Econometrics using Stata
  • Math and Stats using Matlab
  • Data collection
  • Scientific writing using LaTeX
  • Finding scientific ressources (organized by BSPO)
  • Soft Skills
• 2 instructors from SMCS service (Methodology & Statistics)
• Exercises given by Matthis Dartevelle
• Soft Skills module given by Mrs Julie Porreweck & Mrs Dablemont
• Attendance Mandatory to the 6 modules 
• Assignement to be submitted after the 5 modules. This assignement will count for 5% of your thesis
