How to Apply

THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR THE DOUBLE DREGREES

CRITERIA

  • Students must hold a Bachelor degree (180 credits/ECTS) in Economics (or related field, ex: PPE)
  • High academic achievements (as testified by marks in the bachelor degree)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong motivation

The selection of the candidate is confirmed once the Bachelor program has been successfully completed. For some DD programmes, the Bachelor degree must be completed at the end of the June exams session.

TIMELINE 

Step 1: Application to the Economics School International Office

Applications are due by February 6th, 2026.

NOTE:  A second round of selection might take place in the Fall for 1st year Master Students, depending on places available. All candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible. 

Step 2: Interviews will be organized Mid-February and end of March (+ additional sessions if required). An online meeting may be organized for students who are abroad during the selection process.

Step 3:  Students will be notified of their pre-selection via email.

Step 4: Registration process at UCLouvain Enrolment Office

 

THE APPLICATION FILE

For UCLouvain STUDENTS

Fill in the following application form (Application form will be available in January)

Please enclose the following documents with the application form:

  • a cover letter
  • a curriculum vitae
  • the transcripts of records of your bachelor degree
  • Recommended: a certificate or test result showing your level of English (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.). UCLouvain department of economics TOEFL institution code is 4169. Recommended scores: TOEFL iBT: 79 (paper/computer/internet) - IELTS: 6,5. Deadlines for sending the test results: end of June (year of application).
  • Optional: GRE or GMAT test result. Economics School of Louvain GRE institution code is 4169

For INTERNATIONAL or NON-UCLouvain STUDENTS

Fill in the following application form (Application form is available in December)

Please enclose the following documents to the application form:

  • a cover letter
  • a detailed curriculum vitae
  • a copy of all your higher education qualifications or the transcripts of records if the certificates are not yet available
  • a copy of all the marks obtained for each year of higher education since leaving secondary school with details of the results gained (results for years where a pass was not obtained must also be provided)
  • a letter of recommendation (preferably from a Professor of your home University)
  • Recommended: a certificate or test result showing the level of English (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.). Economics School of Louvain TOEFL institution code is 4169. Recommended scores: TOEFL: 550/213/79 (paper/computer/internet) - IELTS: 6. Deadlines for sending the results: end of June (year of application).
  • Optional: GRE or GMAT test result. Economics School of Louvain GRE institution code is 4169

THE REGISTRATION/ADMISSION PROCEDURE

  • Your official registration at UCLouvain will take place after the confirmation of your selection by the ESL International Office.
  • For students with a Belgian degree (UCLouvain and non-UCLouvain students): you will enroll in the master program for which you've been selected (ECON2MS/G, ECON2MA).
  • International students (EU and non-EU with a non Belgian undergraduate degree) have to follow the UCLouvain official application procedure, and apply within the deadline corresponding to their profile to the master program for which they have been selected (ECON2MS/G, ECON2MA).
