A 3-year, full-time postdoctoral(-like) position in renal bioengineering and regeneration (RBR) is available in the laboratory of Dr. Giuseppe Orlando with the Department of Surgery, Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston Salem, NC, USA.
Work will involve human stem cells, renal progenitors, renal cell culture, biomaterials, molecular biology, and experimental animal models of chronic kidney disease. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Orlando, and will be mentored by Dr. Perin at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA.
A PhD in renal regeneration and/or regenerative medicine and/or biomaterials is desirable but not a sine qua non. The candidate must have been working full time in the field of regenerative medicine and/or tissue engineering and/or stem cell biology during the past 3 years and must be committed to science.
As Dr. Orlando is a transplant surgeon scientist with a major interest in basic and clinical research related to the field of RBR, the candidate will have the unique opportunity to participate in clinical activity and meetings, as well as contribute to the regenerative-medicine inspired clinical research under Dr. Orlando mentorship.
