The mission of this collective is to study cultural and mediatic practices in the perspective of movement, from a transcultural and transmedia point of view. Situated at the place where Cultural Studies and Information and Communication Sciences intersect, the GIRCAM takes as its starting point the simple idea that studying cultural productions today means taking account of the dynamics of exchange and circulation that influence the meaning attributed to these productions, and the practices and methods they activate in players, cultures and arts (artists, mediators, audiences, etc.).
