The COSY Division is pleased to inform you that Lúcila GARRIDO (City St George’s, University of London) will give a talk entitled:

“Recognizing people’s faces: from prosopagnosia to brain representations“

This event will take place on Thursday June, 5th at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium Pasteur 2 (LEW).

Abstract:

“Faces convey important information that we use when communicating with other
people. We look at faces to recognize others, understand their feelings and
intentions, and decide how to act. I will talk about three lines of my work on
understanding face processing in the brain. First, I will talk about the brain
correlates of developmental prosopagnosia, a condition in which people
experience severe problems recognizing faces. Second, I will talk about a recent
case study that provides novel insights into the origin of the face inversion effect.
And third, I will talk about how different face-responsive regions in the human
brain represent distinct information about faces.”
