The passing of Professor Jacques Drèze is a terrible shock.
I feel a great sadness, and I would like to send my most heartfelt condolences to Jacques Drèze’s family.
During my undergraduate studies at the UCL in 1983-85, I had the great chance to follow Professor Drèze's courses (econometrics, general equilibrium theory, economics of risk and uncertainty), and to meet him personally.
These teachings and my contacts with Jacques Drèze have deeply marked me for life. His support allowed me to continue my studies at the London School of Economics, and then to do a PhD at the Univer
