Jean-Philippe De Visscher is a PhD architectural engineer graduated from UCLouvain, Belgium and OSU, USA. De Visscher is an associate professor at the UCLouvain in Brussels where he teaches architecture, landscape and urbanism in various studios and seminars. His current research focuses on transdisciplinary and design-based methodologies for the co-development of sustainable foundational networks, covering areas such as landslides, mudflows, green and blue networks, pedestrian networks, public space and care, energy, and waste management. He has a keen interest in exploring informal socio-technical networks in non-Western contexts as sources of innovative solutions for Western contexts.
Jean-Philippe De Visscher is also a practicing architect and urban designer. His experience includes design and project management of masterplans, public spaces, public buildings, collective housings. He is the co-founder of KIS studio (Keep It Simple studio).
