Content
Firstly, the emphasis will be on developing academic vocabulary in German. Secondly, the focus will be on the linguistic and discursive skills necessary to understand complex academic texts and speeches and to write academic texts. Various exercises will be used to deepen interactive competence, oral presentation skills, and academic stylistic competence.
Evaluation methods
Continuous assessment: active participation, scientific presentation of a research topic (30% of the final grade) which will later be the subject of a written assignment as part of the final evaluation.
Final evaluation: written scientific work on a topic of choice (70% of the final grade) through which the student must apply the knowledge and skills learned in class. The assignment will be based on the topic of an initial oral presentation made and discussed beforehand in the course (see continuous assessment).
