Prerequisites
To take this course, students must have reached level A2+ as described by the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as evidenced by :

- passing the A2 placement test organized by ILV at the beginning of the semester with a minimum score of 7/10
- OR a recent DELF A2 certificate (maximum 1 year old and passing all 4 skills)
- passing the LFRAN1201 course with a minimum grade of 14/20
- OR passing the LFRAN1301, LFRAN1311, or LFRAN1321 course with a minimum grade of 10/20
- OR taking the general LFRAN1301, LFRAN1311, or LFRAN1321 course at the same time.
Main themes
The course covers different types of text (explanatory, descriptive, narrative, argumentative, creative) in a variety of communication situations (e.g. introducing someone, recounting a culture shock, explaining the rules of a game, justifying a refusal, etc.)

Content
The course aims to:
- Develop written expression skills through regular writing of short texts of various genres and themes.
- Strengthen the B1 level grammar skills necessary for writing these texts.
- Develop the vocabulary necessary for writing these texts.
- Experiment with the use of generative artificial intelligence to assist in writing in a foreign language, with a view to self-learning.

Part 1: Language reinforcement
Group review of texts handed out the previous week
Part 2: Introduction to the writing assignment
Students finish writing their text at home and receive formative feedback from the teacher or IAG.
