Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

This unit contributes to the acquisition and development of the following learning outcomes, as assigned to the Master's degree in interpreting : 4.2, 4.5, 4.6, 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, 7.4, 8.1, 8.3, 8.6.
Specific learning outcomes at the end of the learning unit
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to:
  1. integrate into the world of work as a competent and responsible player, in compliance with the ethical codes in force in the profession (ABILS, CBTI and AIIC);
  2. evolve in diverse and new professional spheres and environments.
  3. demonstrate knowledge (communicationskills, general culture, socio-cultural knowledge, knowledge of the profession and networks) and interpersonal skills (presentation, attitude, punctuality, professional positioning
  4. and willingness to improve);use appropriate interpreting strategies and techniques and manage the elements of interpreting (inferences, interference, interventions, energy, stress, preparation);
  5. work with a partner (reception and use of blowing, passing and taking over, ability to ask for support and relay in the event of difficulty);
  6. be introspective, receive feedback on their performance and implement elements for improvement.
At the end of the internship, students must produce a written report of at least 10 and at most 20 pages in French, showing that they able to :
  1. present a summary of the interpreting context in which the work placement took place and the general impressions of the work carried out, distinguishing between the essential and the accessory activities of the host associations and services;
  2. independently update his/her/their linguistic knowledge, keeping abreast of terminological developments in French and LSFB in the fields observed;
  3. analyse a number of services critically and introspectively using the Demand and Control Schema (DC-S), taking into account environmental, interpersonal, paralinguistic and intrapersonal demands.
  4. critically reflect, through personal reflections, on the achievements of the internship in terms of professional, interpersonal and personal development as a future interpreter.
 
Other information
In the workplace, the ban on wearing religious symbols stipulated in the work regulations also applies to interns.
