The course aims to provide an overview of the regulations governing the conservation and protection of immovable cultural heritage, including those at the international and national levels. It will enable students to identify the main relevant instruments of international law and to apply the principles and recommendations that apply in these areas, particularly in the regulations of Flanders, Brussels, and the German-speaking Community. The regulations applicable in the Walloon Region are examined in greater depth.
Teaching methods
Lectures, with the option of seminars, practical exercises, and guest lectures.
Evaluation methods
Written and/or oral exam, as specified in the first class. A written assignment may be assigned. Grading takes place during the January exam period (or August, in case of failure).

Course materials for teaching activities (including relevant visual resources) and recommended or required reading (reading lists, texts, and core works specific to each teaching activity, as well as subject-specific or thematic bibliographies) are made available electronically by each instructor, in accordance with the procedures established by their home institution or as determined and communicated by the instructor during the course. They are also made available at the La Paix-Dieu Center for Heritage Professions and in the libraries of partner universities and educational institutions.
