In addition to 16 credits on disciplinary approaches, and 16 credits on studies of great religious traditions, the core curriculum emphasises the comparative approaches that are at the heart of the Master's programme, between religions on the one hand (12 credits) and between disciplines on the other hand (12 credits). In these different approaches, seminar work (18 credits) collectively integrates the students around personal contributions and also around their own "dissertation" research. These seminars enable students to master the epistemological and methodological foundations of the Louvain approach to religious studies.
The programme is complemented by free choice courses and a professionalization seminar allowing students to interact with social actors involved in religious issues and to build cooperative projects that enhances their research and their skills. Particular attention is paid to religious issues related to responsibility in the city (citizenship) and in the world (transition).
