The Doctoral Committee for the field of Education and Teaching Sciences supports you throughout your PhD journey. Established in late 2024, it validates the stages of the PhD programme, reminds you of deadlines and ensures compliance with current regulations.
The Doctoral Committee for this discipline is also here to listen to you and support you in complete confidentiality.

Before you begin
The doctoral programme in Education and Teaching Sciences is governed by two sets of regulations:
- The UCLouvain Doctoral Regulations: A single set of regulations, common to all doctoral programmes at UCLouvain.
- Special provisions applicable to the field of Education and Teaching Sciences - PDF
Specific to each doctoral programme within UCLouvain, these documents constitute the reference texts governing doctoral programmes.
In the event of a dispute, these are the only documents that shall prevail.
You are strongly encouraged to read these documents carefully so that you are fully familiar with them. Other information and procedures are useful supplements but do not replace or amend the regulatory texts.
The process
Completing a PhD at the Faculty of Education involves several stages.

Since June 2025, applications for admission and pre-admission must be submitted via the new OSIS-Doctorat platform.
In addition to this online registration, a scanned copy of the application must be emailed to the administrative officer . This application must be accompanied by the relevant form and the required supporting documents:

Admissions Application Timetable
The Doctoral Committee meets once a month; the dates of the meetings are provided in response to a request for the admissions pack, which must be made to the PhD programme coordinator.
Applications for admission must be submitted one working week before the date of the Doctoral Committee meeting.
As a general rule, applications are processed on a rolling basis within a minimum of three weeks.
2025–2026 Timetable:
- October 25 Doctoral Committee: Thursday 9 October
- Presentation of the new 10bis Doctoral Committee: Monday 3 November
- December 25 Doctoral Committee: Tuesday 2 December
- CDD January 26: Tuesday 6 January
- CDD February 26: Friday 6 February
- CDD March 26: Monday 2 March
- CDD April 26: Tuesday 7 April
- CDD May 26: Tuesday 26 May
- CDD June 26: Tuesday 9 June
